Through the years I have travelled along the paths of exploration and playfulness. I am a self taught artist and use versatile media. My art making is mainly for myself, meant to be a reflection of my deeper processes. In the last years I went from trying out, to selling art. Very recent I realised I would like to tell the story; whether that's my story, or the story of the art medium I am using, or the story of the natural surroundings or objects I meet.
I hope that I, with these narratives, can urge people to look at their own story, at the story of their surroundings, and to live the journey fitting to it.
'The Crofter's Crown'
Willow sculpture with wool, hay and grass; an ode to the the crofters, their work, and their deep connection with the land.
The cuckoo's nest; an ode to all bird species that are not that common anymore. Their stories so individual, but almost, as in a freak show, marginalised in one nest.
Finding my ways through the hills and valleys of our village, spoke so much to me about the meandering of my own life. Hills and valleys are places we all have to take. And these little piece tells that story; highlights, and hidden treasures.
Much of my creativity or art work will find its birth inside, in my art room. In my work I try to honour the natural surroundings that I am living in, and which I am enjoying in my daily life. Because of my deep connection with the land, and all her inhabitants, and because of the feeling of sacredness when I wander and roam, I often leave a token of thankfulness; the acts of beauty to show my appreciation to the earth, called The Connectives.
